This tailored blue and black thinly striped East-meets-West jacket is made from a blend of hand-woven cotton and wool. It is hand-finished with intricate, multi-coloured suzani embroidery on the collar, cuffs and waist. The handmade button is an old coin replica.
Zarif Design is a unique fashion design business based in Kabul, Afghanistan. Designer and founder Zolaykha Sherzad, who studied design in Europe and North America, fuses the elegance of traditional Afghan fabrics and clothing with contemporary Western fashion. Zarif Design offers a line of contemporary jackets which are original and timelessly stylish. Exquisite hand-embroidery and brightly coloured “chapan” material are combined to create practical and magnificently finished jackets for all occasions. They are all handmade in Kabul workshops, employing the intricate tailoring skills of Afghan men and women.
